Azienda Agricola Foradori
Do you know those OG producers who were making natural wine way before natural wines became popular? Yeah, they have a special place in our hearts.
And when it comes to trailblazers, few are more legendary than Elisabetta Foradori.
Back in the 90s the wine world was obsessed with Robert Parker fruit-bomb wines, and winemakers were replacing native vines with more popular grapes. Elisabetta, on the other hand, transitioned her vineyard in the Dolomites foothills entirely to biodynamic agriculture and replanted native Italian grapes with zero reputation at the time. And to top it off, she started using amphorae!
Today Elisabetta is one of the most respected winemakers in the world, and one of the few who can produce fully natural wines with zero sulfites added without sacrificing the precision and quality of more conventionally made wine.
It’s no wonder that Jancis Robinson refers to Elisabetta as “a star beyond measure,” and that Isabelle Legeron describes Foradori’s orange wine as “… extraordinarily delicate and fragrant (and a touch flowery), with gentle tannins and a salty edge. It’s such a pretty wine that it almost doesn’t feel like an orange.“
