The Winery: Azienda Agricola DENAVOLO
Azienda Agricola DENAVOLO, founded in 2005, produces local and traditional wines in the province of Piacenza, Italy. They are a small family estate located in the Po plain, experiencing a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters.
The oldest vines on their fully managed farm were planted in 1975. Their vineyards, spanning 2.2 hectares, are situated between 350 and 400 meters of altitude, featuring clay soil with a fresh and highly limestone composition.
They cultivate various indigenous varietals, including Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, Ortrugo (a unique varietal exclusive to Piacenza), and Marsanne (known locally as Sciampagnino, also used in the renowned white Hermitage). Additionally, they grow other local varietals that are yet to be identified.
