François D’Allaines Pommard Vieilles Vignes Pinot Noir 2020

MXN $2285

Grape: 100% Pinot Noir

Appellation: Pommard AOC

Region: Bourgogne, France

You’ll taste/smell: a striking Burgundy with deep complexity from old vines, offering aromas of dark cherry, blackberries, and forest floor. The rich, structured palate features flavors of dark fruit, dried herbs, and a hint of mocha, supported by firm tannins and vibrant acidity. This elegant wine has a long, persistent finish, making it ideal for cellaring if you actually can but it is ready to drink now.

Good to have it with: hearty dishes, this wine deserves a Coq au vin or a beef Bourguignon.

Wine Details

Alcohol Grade: 13.5%

Aging/ Vinification: Unlike white wines, red wines are vinified with the juice, seeds and skins. Only the stalks (stalks) are removed. The wines are born from maceration in vats (about 2 to 3 weeks) where the skins and pips bring color and tannins. After pressing, the wine is put in barrels where the malolactic fermentation will take place under the same conditions as for the whites. The wine is aged 18 months in traditional barrels.
Best to have it: 12-18ºC
Annual Production: 1,800 bottles
Aging Potential: 8-10 years
Size: 750 ml

The Winery: Domaine François d’Allaines

The François d’Allaines house has been established since 1996 in Demigny, a few kilometers from Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. Very close to this mythical coast where the greatest dry white wines in the world are produced.

Established for 30 years in the heart of the Côte D’Or, close to Meursault and Puligny Montrachet, François, has been characterized by producing wines faithful to its concept: ripe grapes and long periods of aging in barrels without batonnage to demonstrate the fineness and complexity of the Bourgogne terroir.
