The Winery: Domaine Pierre & François Labet
Domaine Pierre Labet, rooted in Beaune since the 15th century, is a family-run estate spanning over 25 acres of organically farmed vineyards, stretching from Meursault to Gevrey-Chambertin. The Labet family has been intertwined with the Burgundy wine region for over 500 years, with François Labet leading the estate since 1984. All vinification takes place at Château de la Tour in Clos Vougeot, where they employ whole-bunch fermentation and age their wines in fine-grained, lightly toasted oak barrels.
The estate produces a diverse range of wines, from regional cuvées to Premier Cru selections, using traditional methods like massale selection for vine propagation. Under the supervision of Edouard Labet and guidance from iconic winemaker Sylvain Pataille, the wines reflect meticulous craftsmanship, from Bourgogne Blanc and Rouge to prestigious Beaune and Meursault appellations. All wines are bottled without fining or filtration, preserving their authentic expression of Burgundy terroir.
