Description
The “Mas des Tourelles” is a family vineyard in the heart of the Languedoc region. Account of vestiges of a Gallo-Roman cellar where we remind ourselves that the first vines in France were planted in this Mediterranean region. For over 50 years and three generations, this wine producer has produced excellent wines. Introducing the iconic Les Tourelles wine with an assembly of syrah and merlot. The terroir is made up of clay-limestone soil and a sunny Mediterranean climate almost all year round.
Wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon region is produced in the South of France, ranging from the Mediterranean coast to Provence. Cabernet, Merlot, Mourvedre, Grenache, and Syrah are some of the most important red grapes in the region.
Most wine producers in this region produce blends, as opposed to single varietal wines. Languedoc-Roussillon is the biggest wine producing region in the world, responsible for over 1/3 of France’s wine production.
The two regions of Languedoc-Roussillon produce distinct styles of red wine, although they are lumped together. The Languedoc is known for fruit-forward and full-bodied wines that can also be quite complex. Roussillon produces riper and juicier blends, as well as late-harvest and fortified wines.
