Sancerre Roger et Didier Raimbault Rouge 2018

MXN $1300

Grape: 100% Pinot Noir

Appellation: Sancerre AOC

Region: Sancerre, France

You’ll taste/smell: This is a 100% Pinot Noir produced without any oak aging. Don’t be fooled though, the winemaker used incredible knowledge and restraint to produce a wine that fully showcases the unique Sancerre terroir (and maybe even more specifically, soil). Medium to full-body, aromas or red fruits, herbs, mushrooms, cedar (super earthy). On the palate, it’s a mix of fruit and savory notes with high acidity. The tannins are there but not overpowering at all. Super long finish.

Good to have it with: pork loin with prune sauce, duck dishes goes nicely with pinot noir, lobster pizza, white pizza or wild mushrooms and polenta

Best to have it: 54ºF, 12ºC

The Raimbault family has been growing grapes in the Verdigny district of France for ten generations.

Experience, technical know-how and nature combine to produce wines of great quality, respecting the typical characteristics of each vintage.

The estate is located in the heart of the Sancerre vineyard.

The grapes are macerated and fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel vats. The wine macerates for 3 weeks in order to extract its aromas, tannins and color from the grapes. When the alcoholic fermentation has finished, the juice is drawn off and the rest is pressed. The wine is then left in vat to go through a malolactic fermentation. The wine is racked several times and lightly filtered before being put into bottle, so as to keep its natural structure (there could, therefore, be a little natural deposit in the bottle).

Alcohol Grade: 13.5%

Aging Capacity: 5-8 years

Size: 750 ml
