Wine Details – Riofavara Nero d’Avola Rosé 2023
Vinification: The grapes are hand-harvested in the early morning during the first week of September to preserve freshness and acidity. After a gentle pressing, the must is quickly separated from the skins to achieve a delicate rosé color. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures using a pied de cuve prepared from previously harvested grapes, encouraging a natural and controlled fermentation. The wine is then aged on its fine lees in stainless steel until bottling, without malolactic fermentation, and spends about six months in steel.

Riofavara is a family-run estate located in Sicily’s sun-drenched Noto Valley, where vines have been cultivated for nearly a century. Since the early 1990s, the Padova family has focused on bottling wines that truly reflect their land, led today by a new generation committed to precision, sustainability, and authenticity.
Deeply rooted in organic farming, Riofavara goes beyond standard certifications, following strict environmental practices to protect their vineyards and express the character of the region. Their wines showcase a fresher, more mineral side of Sicily, shaped by limestone-rich soils and a thoughtful, minimal intervention approach in the cellar.
