Founded in 2010 in Ensenada, Baja California by three friends with a passion for wine, influenced by the region’s wine tradition, the company started by renting space in various wineries. In October 2010, they created their first barrel of Distinto-Merlot, laying the foundation for formalizing as a corporation in 2013. By 2012, after two successful harvests, they acquired a winery in Ensenada and secured a deal for Carignan grapes from the Valle de Guadalupe. They expanded their vineyard sources to meet growing demand. In 2013, Vinos y Bodegas Distinto was established, introducing a new Tempranillo-Merlot label and later a Cabernet-Tempranillo label, both acclaimed for their complexity and elegance. In the same year, Distinto’s wines won international gold medals and received mentions in prestigious wine guides. After nearly 15 years, they began constructing their own winery in Valle de Guadalupe, set to open in spring 2025.
