Jack Cakebread bought his first Rutherford orchard in 1972 after spending a day photographing the valley, paving the way for decades of vineyard acquisition across Napa's premier benchlands to craft this quintessential Cabernet.

Dark cassis, ripe blackberry, and subtle sweet tobacco open on the nose, followed by notes of dark chocolate, cedar, and fresh sage. The palate is full-bodied and velvet-textured, anchored by fine, firm tannins and a rich core of dark fruit that carries through to a long, polished finish.
