Moschopolis Winery, established on a 22-acre vineyard in Monopigado, Thessaloniki, enjoys a prime location 1000-1600 feet above sea level, overlooking Mount Olympus and the Gulf of Thessaloniki. The vineyard cultivates a variety of grapes including Mavatragano, Xinomavro, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Assyrtiko, and Malagousia. The vineyard is managed sustainably, following responsible farming principles and performing most of the work manually. The winery owes its foundation to Doctor Georgios Germanis, a Chemical Soil Specialist with over 30 years of experience in viticulture and winemaking, who has significantly contributed to the advancement of Greek viticulture.
The legacy of Moschopolis Winery is carried forward by the new generation, comprising three wine enthusiasts: Theodoros Germanis, the son of Dr. Georgios Germanis, who holds a Diploma in Electronic Engineering, an MBA, and a degree in Chemistry; Dimitrios Paralidis, his groom, a Diplomatic Agronomist Surveying Engineer; and Aliki Germani-Paralidi, daughter of Dr. Georgios Germanis. The family’s dedication to wine dates back to Dr. Theodoros Germanis (1909-2004), an esteemed Agronomist-Viticulturist with studies in Montpellier, France, and recognized research on indigenous grape varieties. The winery is committed to producing quality wines while preserving and passing on their extensive knowledge and tradition to future generations.
