Wine Details

Malasenda refers to the difficulties along the way. Like those that coastal winegrowers face to obtain the best grapes, those with which the wines are made.

The selection of the grapes comes from plots closest to the Douro River, located between 760 and 800 meters, for our freshest and youngest wine, Malasenda Roble.

The Winery: Nueve Uvas

From the beginning, more than a wine company, it becomes a journey. A journey through the territory, the varieties and its people. A journey through wine.

They drink from the tradition of each area to create new concepts. Different wines that are the reflection of the varieties from which they are born. Daring, carefree and modern, wines full of freshness, fruit and energy designed to be enjoyed in good company because wine does not make much sense if it is not to be shared, does it?

In this search they have come across extraordinary people. True in love with their land and its tradition, families of winegrowers who for decades have worked their vineyards and pampered their wines. Authentic wine madmen, who in one way or another became a family.

This is the case of the Ruíz family in La Rioja Baja, who for seven generations have seen their vineyards grow in this land. Or the García family in Nava de Roa, in the heart of the Ribera. Old friends like Isidoro in the Rías Baixas, or new ones like the Méndez family in the Ribeiro and the Moure in the Ribeira Sacra. All of them truly passionate about wine, who share the same purpose with Nine Grapes, to create authentic and simple wines, a reflection of their effort and the landscape where they are born. Easy to understand and enjoy.
